All MicroCATs are propelled with a quite, smooth, efficient propeller drive system.  The 1:8 gear ratio and custom 10" diameter propeller provide easy pedal rotation and outstanding speed with minimal effort.  Because the propeller is in front, pulling the boat rather than pushing it, the drive unit offers superior performance and unique shallow water capabilities.  Depending on the MicroCAT model, speeds of 5-8 M.P.H. can be attained.

MicroCAT drive units are made with stainless steel gears and are designed to be maintenance free.  Equipped with an aluminum shaft, there are no chains or belts capable of wearing out capable of wearing out or breaking when exposed to the elements.  Both the upper and lower injection molded housings are semi- filled with grease for life long lubrication.
